In recent years, home-based palliative care has become increasingly important, allowing children to spend their final days in a familiar and loving environment, surrounded by family and friends. By presenting the following case studies, we aimed to highlight the complexity of providing home-based palliative care for terminally ill children, with a particular focus on the organizational challenges and dilemmas that professionals face when providing home-based palliative care. Through these concrete examples, we will analyze the approach to home-based palliative care and highlight the challenges and benefits it brings, as well as the role of interdisciplinary teams in providing comprehensive support.
